Palmer double sparks Chelsea comeback win over Bournemouth

Chelsea supporters watching in Nairobi saw a game of two halves at Stamford Bridge on Saturday: a limp first half, then a comeback built entirely from the bench as Chelsea beat Bournemouth 3-2.

Bournemouth were 2-0 ahead by half-time through Evanilson and Antoine Semenyo. Xabi Alonso turned to Cole Palmer at the interval, and the substitute scored twice to level the match.

Joao Pedro, also introduced from the bench, headed home in the 88th minute to complete the turnaround. Chelsea climb to fourth in the Premier League table as a result.

Alonso took responsibility for the opening half. "The first half was my fault," he said.

The win keeps Chelsea in the top-four conversation that Kenyan fans of the Premier League track every weekend, while Bournemouth are left to wonder how a two-goal lead slipped away.
